Crew Positions Available
/All,
Firstly, thanks to those who attended the crew and skippers “Meet and Greet” on Sunday 11th August in the Club House (Blues Point Hotel) as it was a great opportunity to chat with you …and kudos to those who turned up after running the City to Surf.
As a follow up please find this email and information.
Racing
The Club's Race Calendar is on the web site and available to download.
Race 3 is scheduled for Sunday 8th September and Race 4 the Sunday 29th September.
Crew positions are available now for future races but pending the level of response, it will be on a first come first serve basis as we may have too many new crew for the racing positions available.
Matching Crew to Boats
As was discussed during the meet and greet session we understand that prospective crew live in a range of suburbs from inner west to north suburbs and our thinking is that we want to try and match crew to where the closest skipper/boat is located.
Currently our skippers/ boats are located at the following harbour locations:
1) Berrys Bay - closest to the yacht club (Blues Point Hotel)
2) Drummoyne - best for inner west residents.
3) Tambourine Bay - Riverview/Hunters Hill area.
4) Greenwich (near Greenwich Ferry and Greenwich Flying Squadron)
Once you have been matched to a boat/skipper, details like the meeting and departure times will be communicated by the skipper. Also, if you seek to crew with another new crew person, please let us know this as well.
BPYC New Crew Offer - Free Helly Hansen Club Hat
The club has extended this offer up to and including Race 4 of the Spring Series.
The hats are worth $35 - $40 and are very popular. On completion of your membership you will be entitled to your complimentary hat and this will be presented at the post race awards back at the club house.
We have already issued 2 of these hats to two very eager new crew at the post race prizegiving for BPYC Race 2 of the Spring series on Sunday 25th August.
Australian Sailing Compliance
